The Practice Manager is responsible for the management of the Practice and the staff. She is happy to answer any queries you may have on the Practice. We are fortunate to have conscientious, experienced reception and administration staff, who aim to provide an efficient and friendly service at all times.
We are a training practice, and a new Doctor joins us in August each year. This fully-trained Doctor is called a GP Registrar and he/she is here to gain additional experience in General Practice. As part of their training, the GP Registrar is required to video-tape some of their consultations. These consultations are highly confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than training. This would, of course, only be carried out with your written agreement. If you do not wish to have your consultation video-taped, please inform the reception staff.
We regularly have medical students from Dundee University with us. It is important for students to see patients in the Practice and in the home setting. We may, at times, ask you to see a student. If you do not wish to consult with a student, please inform the reception staff.
The Practice Nurses consult between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The Practice Nurses are experienced in chronic disease management including asthma, diabetes and coronary heart disease, health promotion, well women clinics – including HRT examinations, cervical smears and contraceptive advice - and numerous treatment room tasks. These include general wound care, suture removal, ear syringing, administering injections, dietary and lifestyle advice, travel health and immunisations. Appointments can be arranged by telephoning 01337 828262
The District Nursing staff provide general nursing care for people who are either disabled or are too ill to come to the Health Centre. The District Nursing Sister is an experienced registered general nurse and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of individuals in their own home. The District Nursing staff can be contacted by calling the Health Centre on 01337 826630.
The Health Visitors run various clinics including Baby Massage, Smoking Cessation and Weight Management. The Health Visitors can be contacted by calling the Health Centre on 01337 826633.
